“Nina Blouse” Blog tour

Assalamualaikum semua,

Today, I would be joining the Nina Blouse Blog Tour!

Therefore, i would like to share the dress that I had sewn for Alya. FYI, I was chosen by Olga from Coffee + Thread as a tester for her latest pattern; Nina Blouse.

I’m a big fan of Olga who hails from Ukraine as she is a talented pattern designer. I have been following her work for the past few years. The patterns that she made are beautiful and unique.

After a number of series of testing, this is the third blouse that I made using the pattern. Nevertheless, I’m satisfied with the result. The Nina Blouse looks fabulous.

Pattern : Nina Blouse by Olga from Coffee + Thread

Fabric : 2 pieces of Cushion Cover and also yellow mustard satin for the bow tie.

Blouse details:

For the purpose of this blog tour, I would be sharing the Nina Blouse based on my refashion project. This is because I wanted to challenge myself with something that is different than usual.

The fabric of the blouse is derived from 2 cushion covers which I bought from a bazaar at the Great Eastern Mall in Kuala Lumpur. The pattern on the fabric is perfect for the Lunar New Year which was celebrated last month.

Nina blouse is a classic pattern with a retro feel. It has 2 options for the sleeve; short and long. For the short sleeve, there is the for regular cap sleeve or scalloped sleeve.

Similarly, the pattern has 2 options; scalloped collar or normal Peter Pan collar

I had chosen the scolloped cap sleeve and normal Peter Pan collar. I also used size 4 for Alya.

Phew!

Saya amat sukakan hasil blouse ini. Alya dapat memakai blouse ini untuk acara menyambut Lunar New Year di sekolah kakak.

This fabric is rather challenging for me as it frayed rather easily. While going through the works, I had to ensure to sew each margins of the fabric to prevent it from fraying….phew!

Did I told you that I love the result? Alya wore the blouse for the Lunar Year celebrations at her elder sister’s school.

Jahitannya nampak profesional.
The bow tie is detachable. And I just love the shoulder pleats! The stitch looks so professional!
